I have ZERO green thumb and really can't keep plants alive for long, even the ones everyone claims can't be killed. Nevertheless, I still like to have plants around me. There's something about that little bit of nature indoors that feels right.

I mentioned this at a dinner party and my friend, DM, had the most incredible suggestion: buy a high-quality fake plant but add real dirt in the planter! Most people will not be able to tell the difference.
