MINI KIL: LIVING MY BEST LIFE
Friends have reached out to me recently to ask if I’ve experienced any of the recent anti-Asian hate and violence and send their kindness and support - so I wanted to acknowledge this moment – and share my thoughts and experiences.

If you’re a non-white, you have experienced some sort of racism and discrimination in life, whether it’s the petty, name-calling, bullying kind to the “you weren’t the best fit for this job” bias (regardless affluence and education). FACT. The recent attacks against Asian-Americans have been concentrated in highly dense Asian neighborhoods because racist bullies are lazy and looking for “easy” targets. I haven’t experienced anything … yet but won’t be surprised when it happens. Yep, not “if” but “when”. FACT. Once you’ve experienced racism once, you prepare for it to happen again because it does. SAD FACT.
And by no means is the racism against Asian-Americans the same as systematic, institutional racism against African-American/Blacks. I don’t know any Asian-American who fears getting pulled over by the police (other than what it’ll do to their insurance rates) or reluctant to call 911 if they need help.

Nothing irritates racists and bullies more than someone living their best life. Truly. And that’s how I deal with the racism, discrimination, sexism, misogyny, ageism, mass shootings, bad luck and sh*t happens in life. I’m living my best life. HAPPY FACT.
