I’ve been on the lookout for new colors in the same fabric – and think I may have some winners. Kendor, the fabric manufacturer, has finally created a really pretty ivory (middle left). I was worried that it might be too sheer, because that is always annoying, but AJ thought it was fine.
AJ also really liked the Chili (middle right), which is almost an orange red. I would’ve never picked it, but then again, I would’ve also never picked peacock, which outsells black! When I looked at it again, I realized I had overlooked it – and she’s right, it’s a cool red with orange undertones. Thanks goodness I have friends with excellent taste.
Next step is to actually make some samples (probably the tops) in these new colors because what looks great on a swatch might not be so amazing as a garment. As with everything with Everyday Sabbatical, I’ll give it a try and see how it goes. Fingers crossed!
