Another reason I want to learn how to sew is so I can offer modifications and customizations for women who are going through medical treatments. At last year’s Cherry Creek Holiday Market, a lovely man asked about the height of the 24/7 pants waistband because his wife was getting chemo treatment and couldn’t have anything rubbing her abdominal area.
This made me realize that there is another gap in the apparel market. While women are getting medical treatments, they want to be comfortable, wear loose fitting clothing, something soft to their sensitive skin and bodies but still look put together, maybe even more so.
So … once I adequately learn how to sew, I’ll start offering a custom service at no extra cost. I hope I learn quickly.
